“Stories are my passion; they are the lens through which I see the rest of the world.”
It was this kind of passion that led Mackenzie Jagar to Taylor University. Thinking back to her first time at Taylor, Mackenzie says, “I felt immediately at home.”
Mackenzie graduated in 2016 from the Professional Writing program with a double minor in Creative Writing and Christian Educational Ministries. She accepted an editing position with Recorded Books in Maryland this past January, and left the Midwest for the East Coast and a new adventure.
At Recorded Books, Mackenzie spends most of her time editing back cover copy for audio books and writing teacher guides for popular middle grade and young adult titles. In her free time Mackenzie also works as a freelance writer. Her personal writing projects span from short creative nonfiction pieces to young adult fantasy novels.
Back in 2015 Mackenzie landed a summer internship with Lighthouse Publishing of the Carolinas (LPC) and started working part-time for them the following fall. This opportunity has resulted in the job as a general editor for Bling!, the contemporary romance imprint of Lighthouse Publishing of the Carolinas.
Some exciting news Mackenzie wants to share is that the first book she edited, First Crush by Ashley Ludwig, has been nominated for an INSPY award.
