Taylor University senior and Jerry B. Jenkins Scholarship recipient Chandler Birch has been named one of ten finalists in the Simon451 Student Novel Competition. (For the original announcement, click here.) The list of finalists includes students from NYU, UCLA, and Harvard.
To qualify, Birch sent in a summary of his fantasy novel, Ashes, and a 50-page book sample. His entry was selected from among 2,000 others. For the next round of the competition, he will need to submit a full-length novel (60,000-word minimum) by September 1.
